Returning by Request - Teaching Squares

Are you looking for fresh teaching ideas, inspiration, and a chance to connect with colleagues in a supportive, non-evaluative environment? Join a Teaching Square!

This opportunity allows faculty to observe, reflect, and learn from one another’s teaching practices while fostering meaningful conversations about student learning and engagement.

How it Works:

  1. Kickoff Meeting - Learn about the process, set goals, and coordinate schedules.
  2. Classroom Observations - Each participant observes three colleagues' classes.
  3. Reflection and Celebration - Share insights, discuss takeaways, and collaborate on new teaching ideas.

Open to all faculty!

Sign up as a group of four, or contact the Teaching & Learning Center (TLC) to be placed in a group.

Interested? Sign up by March 10, 2025!

Contact the TLC at TLC@csi.edu to register or learn more.

Various dates - Intentional Pedagogy Learning Community

This is CSI's first learning community, and its members are entering their second year.  There's no time like the present to join this group of faculty, staff, and administrators working together to dive more deeply into best practices pedagogy that truly serves students here at CSI.

This learning community meets monthly to exchange ideas, report on lessons learned in our classrooms, and to sometimes share in a book read.

If you'd like to participate, please send an email to tlc@csi.edu

Faculty Brown Bag/Breakfast, Friday mornings

Stop by the ATIC building, and turn to the HVAC and machining labs on Friday mornings for breakfast and an energetic conversation about all things teaching.  A light breakfast and friendship is shared weekly, and at least once a month the boys go all out and make a hearty and hot breakfast.  Breakfast starts about 8:30, and all are welcome.  Questions and RSVP to Mike Lapray at mlapray@csi.edu
