To qualify for a Sustainability Academic Certificate, a student must:
- Participate in the CSI Sustainability Council for at least one year
- Take a minimum of 12 credits covering each branch of sustainability (environment, equity, economics)
- Environment (3 credits): BIOL 102 is required
- Economics (3 credits): see designated courses
- Equity (3 credits): see designated courses
- One additional course (3 credits) in any of the 3 emphases
- Complete a portfolio (reviewed by the Sustainability Committee) that demonstrates an understanding of sustainability through artifacts from designated courses taken
Students who are awarded sustainability recognition can be identified by green cords at graduation.
