Admission Steps

The Culinary Arts program prepares students for the many positions in the hospitality industry. Students gain skills and knowledge in food preparation, nutrition, menu planning, sanitation, equipment operation, inventory control, purchasing, and customer service. This is an in-person, limited enrollment program and admission is on a first-come, first-served basis.

  1. Apply to CSI and become a Golden Eagle: Fill out the free online form to Apply to CSI, then watch your email for your acceptance letter and instructions to get set up as a new student. 

  2. Prepare for Registration: Make an appointment with an Enrollment Specialist to declare your major and get registration clearance.

  3. Prepare for Additional Required Expenses: Budget now so that you are ready to purchase the additional materials listed below:
    - Textbooks: $400 (E-books or rentals can be purchased at reduced costs) 
    - Uniforms: $180
    - Knives: $170 - $360
  4. ServeSafe Certification: If you have already completed the ServeSafe Managers Certification, please bring your certificate to the first week of the Food Sanitation class. Once verified, you will be able to drop the Food Sanitation class and purchase the credits at a discounted rate.
