Admission Steps

The Collision Repair Technology Program is designed to provide the technical and professional competence required for entry-level technicians. The program involves classroom and lab experience on CSI vehicles and working at a new vehicle dealership or independent auto body shop. This is a limited enrollment program that only admits students in the fall semester.

  1. Apply to CSI and become a Golden Eagle: Fill out the free online form to Apply to CSI, then watch your email for your acceptance letter and instructions to get set up as a new student.

  2. Take a mechanical reasoning test: All applicants interested in the Collision Repair Technology program need to complete the mechanical reasoning test in the CSI Testing Center. You will need your CSI student ID number and a valid photo ID with you in order to take the test. This is a timed 12-minute test. You must arrive one hour before closing, so be sure to check the current CSI Testing Center hours of operation

  3. Prepare for Registration: Make an appointment with an Enrollment Specialist to declare your major and get registration clearance.
  4. Prepare for Additional Required Expenses:
    • Textbooks: $200
    • Tools: approximately $2,000 depending on quality and brand and preference

DO NOT purchase any of these items before you are officially accepted to the program!

  5. Meet with Instructor: Schedule an appointment with program manager Tim Pierce to discuss next steps.
