Admission Steps

The Baking and Pastry program is designed to provide students with skills needed for an entry-level position in a variety of baking environments including independent and in-store bakeries as well as large commercial bakeries, restaurants and hotels. This is an in-person, limited enrollment program that admits only once a year and admission is on a first-come, first-served basis.

  1. Apply to CSI and become a Golden Eagle: Fill out the free online form to Apply to CSI, then watch your email for your acceptance letter and instructions to get set up as a new student. 

  2. Prepare for Registration: Make an appointment with an Enrollment Specialist to declare your major and get registration clearance.

  3. Prepare for Additional Required Expenses: Budget now so that you are ready to purchase the additional materials listed below:
    - Textbooks: Approximately $185
    - Uniforms and Tools: $500
  4. ServeSafe Certification: If you have already completed the ServeSafe Managers Certification, please bring your certificate to the first week of the Food Sanitation class. Once verified, you will be able to drop the Food Sanitation class and purchase the credits at a discounted rate.
