The College of Southern Idaho (CSI) offers online educational programs and courses throughout Idaho and the United States. All CSI programs have been approved by the Idaho State Board of Education. The State of Idaho is a member of the National Council of State Authorization of Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA). The College of Southern Idaho is also a member of NC-SARA, and, as a member of that organization, is permitted to teach distance education courses to students residing in all other states.
The National Council of State Authorization of Reciprocity Agreements provides a voluntary, regional approach to state oversight of postsecondary distance education. Membership is open to degree-granting postsecondary institutions that are accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education. The State of Idaho is a member of the NC-SARA, and CSI is an approved SARA institution in Idaho. NC-SARA's policies are intended to protect students and provide benefits to both states and institutions carrying out distance education in multiple states. As a member institution, CSI adheres to an established common set of standards for offering post-secondary, online education among member states, districts, and territories. The College also works directly with states that are not NC-SARA members to ensure that when authorization or licensure is necessary, required approvals are secured.
The College makes every effort to ensure information about educational requirements for licensure or certification information is current. However, state requirements may change. Separate from educational requirements, state licensure boards may require applicants to complete additional requirements. If you are planning to pursue professional licensure or certification in a state other than Idaho, we strongly recommended that you contact the appropriate licensing entity in that state to seek information and guidance regarding licensure or certification requirements before beginning a credential program.
The College of Southern Idaho provides a Student Handbook as a resource for students attending the College. Students enrolled in CSI courses who have a complaint about a course or an educational experience should follow the College's Report a Concern process.
If you are living in a SARA state and are not satisfied with the outcome of this process, you may choose to file an appeal with the College's portal agent (Idaho) or with your home state's portal agent. Please see the State Portal Entity Contacts. For California students, please see the California Department of Consumer Affairs.
