Student Profile: Sammi Sanchez

Hello, my name is Sammi Sanchez and I served as the CSI Student Body President in 2019. I am from Nampa, Idaho and am majoring in Political Science and Criminal Justice. I chose to come to CSI because of its unique environment. Although you are at a community college, it feels more like a university campus. I love how bustling and active CSI feels. We also have the same resources and opportunities available as the larger schools I toured, but at a fraction of the cost. Our on-campus housing and athletics play a huge role in promoting an active campus. CSI has a great combination of affordable and quality education opportunities!

College is all about the experience! Getting involved completely changed how I viewed my time here at CSI. A large emphasis is placed on leadership and student involvement, I really recommend joining one of our councils, clubs, organizations, or teams to make the most of your time here. Academics are incredibly important, but they are not everything. College is also about the relationships, experiences, and of course, the fun. The opportunities that you have outside of the classroom play an important role in your development as a student and as an individual.

The best advice I could give to prospective students is to get involved and know the resources that are available to you. CSI has resources across multiple departments that can help you with a variety of obstacles you may face. A few examples include the career center, free counseling, legal clinics, and a food pantry.

If you are interested in attending college I encourage you to follow our social media channels and/or schedule a campus tour today!
