I'm from a small and awesome fish farm town called Buhl, Idaho. Also known as the Trout capital of the world!
My experience at CSI has been completely above what I had even hoped it would be. I expected to come into this small college, get the necessary credits to transfer to a university, and then get out and away from Twin Falls as soon as possible. I found myself learning more than I even knew was available, gaining real work experience in my field of study, and falling in love with the campus and the city of Twin Falls. The professors and students have become close friends and nearly family to me. This college feels like home.
A typical busy day for me at CSI looks like this:
In my free time, I like to participate in whatever the CSI Outdoor Recreation Program has to offer, like the mountain biking I mentioned above. You get to bike on the beautiful trails alongside the Snake River. This is my favorite thing to do because it’s a great way to exercise and release the stresses of your day. Plus, the Outdoor Recreation staff are awesome to hang out with.
I also love learning about my cameras and creating videos to build my skills and portfolio. My cameras are my obsession.
A piece of advice I would give to a new CSI student is to get involved. I know in high school, participating in school events was cheesy, but at CSI it is so fun!
The Outdoor Recreation Program provides rock climbing, mountain biking, kayaking, backpacking trips, and so much more. That's just what one department on campus has to offer.
CSI dances and free movie nights are also always fun, and a great way to meet new friends. Don’t be shy! Participate in the events and activities CSI has to offer.
