Twin Falls, ID – Leah Scrimpsher, a student and employee of the College of Southern Idaho (CSI) has been awarded a $500 continuing education scholarship from the American Association for Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC). The scholarship is based on noteworthy academic accomplishments, community involvement and contributions made in support of women’s issues at their respective community colleges.
Scrimpsher, who is also part of the Information Technology Department at CSI praised both CSI and AAWCC for the support they have shown. “ It’s such an amazing opportunity to be able to work with AAWCC and CSI to continue my education and further my career in the CSI IT department and beyond. I am not a traditional student by any means and without these scholarships I would not be able to continue my education. CSI has provided the flexibility and resources to make sure I am successful.” Scrimpsher will now pursue a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Operations Management at CSI.
The AAWCC, founded in 1973, is the leading national organization that champions women and maximizes their potential at community colleges. Women interested in joining AAWCC or wishing to apply for scholarships should go to https://www.aawccnatl.org/ for more information.
