The Herrett Center at the College of Southern Idaho is excited to announce the date of the STEAM Camp-In overnight event. This program is designed for students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade who are interested in learning about various STEAM topics (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) in a fun, engaging environment. Participants are invited to the museum for an evening packed with science workshops, a planetarium show, a trip to the observatory, and many other fun activities. The STEAM Camp-In is meant to show students real-world applications of science outside of the classroom.
Each participant will have an opportunity to select a workshop from a list of exciting options, the majority of which are hosted by CSI faculty and staff. Some of the possibilities include creating objects with 3D pens, making soil or learning how to scrub up like a veterinarian.
The evening will culminate with a “camp-in” in the museum’s galleries where participants will sleep beneath a mammoth, a mummy or African masks. The students will wake up early for more fun in the morning before being picked up by parents.
