Twin Falls, ID – The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) recently announced that College of Southern Idaho (CSI) Dean of Enrollment Services Monze Stark-Magana has been named as a fellow in HACU’s upcoming Leadership Academy/La Academia de Liderazgo. Stark-Magana joins 49 other fellows from across the nation who were announced on Monday, September 11, as participants in the one-year fellowship which is slated to begin in October. The Leadership Academy is designed to help fellows prepare for leadership roles in institutions of higher education, with a particular emphasis on Hispanic Serving Institutions.
“Being chosen for the HACU fellowship is truly humbling,” Stark-Magana said. “It serves as a meaningful acknowledgment of my dedication to making a positive impact through education and diversity. I am deeply grateful for this opportunity to use this honor as a means of inspiring others to dream big, work diligently, and pursue excellence in all their pursuits.”
Dr. Dean Fisher, the President of the College of Southern Idaho, said the following about Stark-Magana’s fellowship opportunity: “I am very pleased that Dean Stark-Magana has been selected to participate in HACU’s Leadership Academy. She is already a valuable member of the College of Southern Idaho community, and this fellowship will allow her to further develop her already impressive skills. As a Hispanic Serving Institution, CSI is committed to engaging in opportunities like these as we seek to serve all of the students of the Magic Valley and beyond.”
Founded in 1986, HACU represents over 500 colleges and universities around the world. The Leadership Academy faculty bring more than 100 years of combined higher education experience to the academy and will guide fellows in developing special projects tied to their current institutions as a part of their academy experience.
