Twin Falls, Idaho – The College of Southern Idaho (CSI) announced today that it has parted ways with long-time Head Volleyball Coach Jim Cartisser and Assistant Coach Babes Kalulu.
Cartisser has been the head coach of the Golden Eagles since 2018 when he took the program over following the passing of his late wife Heidi. During his first season, Cartisser led CSI to its 12th National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Volleyball National Championship, finishing the season with a record of 31-2. Cartisser was also named the NJCAA Coach of the Year following the 2018 season. Cartisser served as an assistant during most of the 12 seasons that Coach Heidi Cartisser led the Golden Eagles. Departing Assistant Coach Babes Kalulu also has a long history with CSI Volleyball, having first served as a volunteer assistant in 2006. In 2018, Kalulu was named as the Golden Eagles full-time assistant coach.
“I want to thank Coach Cartisser and Coach Kalulu for their years of service to the College of Southern Idaho and for the lasting imprint that they have left on CSI Volleyball and CSI Athletics,” said incoming CSI Athletic Director Daequon Montreal. “We wish them both the best in their future endeavors.”
The search for a new coaching staff will be immediately.
