All degree-seeking students, and non degree-seeking students taking a Math, English or other applicable course, must take the CSI placement tests before registering at the College of Southern Idaho. The placement tests cover writing and mathematics. No fee is charged to prospective CSI students taking the placement tests for the first time. These tests are NOT used to determine admission to CSI. Rather, the results are used during the educational planning process to assist students in selecting appropriate level courses in which they will be successful. CSI uses the ALEKs Placement, Preparation, and Learning program for Mathematics and WriteClass for English.
Students can take the SAT test through the CSI Testing Center. They need to register online through CollegeBoard (sat.collegeboard.org) . The code for the CSI Testing Center is: 13175.
ACT tests are offered on the College of Southern Idaho campus in the Shields Building. (NOT in the Testing Center).
